Road Blockades prevented the family from restoring their own land

A family could not regain their ancestral property despite having a necessary court order as the present occupant of the land supported by locals resorted to a road blockade movement on the National Highway at Bishalghar in Sipahijala district. The police were accompanying the landowner but refrained from resorting to any force.

The legal owners of the controversial land located at Bhuiar Math in Gokulnagar, Sima Das and Bibhas Das, said it is their ancestral property, and the court also ordered in favor of them. However, unauthorized occupants of the land, Hiralal Das Sarker, have refused to vacate it. Instead, they, supported by local people, resorted to a road blockade movement.

The owners said they are owners of the land and the court also ordered in favour of them but illegal occupants are not vacating the land. However, they are not ready to go back and the legal fight will continue.
