Hundreds of students from Tripura are unable to sit written examination who got admitted to several B.Ed colleges in West Bengal. A good number of students could not able to sit for the written exams due to flight cancellations due to fog. As a result, B.Ed candidates are facing serious problems. Yesterday too, more than 30 B.Ed candidates could not go to Kolkata due to flight cancellations. Earlier, flights were also cancelled due to fog at MBB airport. And many students could not go to West Bengal to take part in the B.Ed exam.
It is learnt that these students stay in Tripura throughout the year. They only go to these B.Ed colleges in West Bengal to take the exam during the exam period. It is alleged that in exchange for a large sum of money, these students are not attending regular classes but are getting a passing certificate just by sitting for the exam. Later, they are also getting teaching jobs. The matter is under the attention of the Tripura Education Department. But no effective preventive measures are being taken. This issue has come to light in the past few days due to the continuous flight cancellations.
