45 year age limit fixed for Mandal president appointment

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is set to bring some big reforms as far as the organisational appointments are concerned. As the party’s membership drive arrived at its fag end, the process of appointing Mandal presidents will be started now. Sources in the ruling party said, “Some massive changes have been brought in and some pre-conditions had been fixed for appointment of Mandal presidents. In order to leave space for the young leaders and train next generation leaders who can lead the state, it has been decided that the maximum age limit for the post of Mandal president is 45. The decision has been taken to ensure that the person who will get this important portfolio can perform the strenuous job.” In BJP’s organisational language Mandal refers to an assembly constituency. All the sixty assembly constituencies will have new presidents for the organisational portfolio by December 15. “The appointment process is underway. Names are being collected, based on the merit; the appointments will be made,” a senior BJP leader has said. In this case, the person who will get the appointment must have experience of serving in an office bearer portfolio of the Mandal. Similar guidelines had been issued for the other appointments as well. Followed by these reshuffle, the district level committees will be reconstituted and eventually, the state committee will witness a rejig. The party is also supposed to get a party president once the process of organisational reshuffle which is slated to end by January, 2025.
