The newly formed ‘Sanatan Jagaran Manch’ comprising representatives from all Hindu religious ‘Ashrams’ and organizations and led by Swami Chinmoy Das of ISKCON have started holding rallies in different divisions of Bangladesh to press for a eight point charter of demands for minority security and dignified existence. A massive rally was held last month in Chittagong, evoking huge response from lakhs of Hindus and this was followed by another mammoth rally in Rangpur district head quarter on November 22. The ‘Momin’ government of Bangladesh headed by Yunus had made indirect attempts to sabotage the rally by coercing hotels into denying accommodation to Hindu leaders and religious personages and creating other obstacles amidst a stoic silence maintained by the fellow ‘Momin’ media over the minority issues, their grievances and needs. But in spite of all the hurdles created in the way the Rangpur rally was a resounding success.
Sources from across the border said that the ‘Sanatan Jagaran Manch’ is preparing to hold a massive rally in Khulna district town on December 13 and mobilization for this has already commenced. A Hindu majority district at the time of partition and obtained by the erstwhile East Pakistan in exchange for ‘Momin’ majority Murshidabad, Khulna has turned out to be a veritable crematorium for the Hindus in the East Pakistan and its later edition Bangladesh. In the year 1971 more than ten thousand Hindus had been massacred by the beastly Pakistani army and their native cohorts , the Bangladeshi ‘Razakars’. The December 13 rally of Hindus in Khulna therefore assumes extra significance.
The rally at Khulna will be followed up by another massive rally of persecuted Hindus on December 20 at Barisal, another crematorium of hapless Hindus in the hands of the bestial ‘Momins’ who had massacred 7 thousand innocent Hindus there in August 1947 on a wicked rumour, willfully circulated by a section of the faithful that Sher-i-Bangal Fazlul Haque had been killed in Calcutta. Upon his return to his home district Fazlul Haque was astounded by the massacre and asked his followers in a series of meetings why they had done so on the basis of a rumour, telling that he had gone to Calcutta to dispose of his properties there. But the massacre, mayhem, temple desecration, abduction of women and forced marriages continued unabated in the following decades. But a minuscule minority of Hindus still live and breathe in Barisal where the December 20 rally will be held.
As per the tentative schedule drawn by the ‘Sanatan Jagaran Manch’ the third meeting has been planned for Comilla, another formerly Hindu majority district and birth place of many great men, on December 27. Sources said that the ‘Momin’ Bangladeshi media that wax eloquent on secularism whenever they cross border have been maintaining a complete silence over the peaceful meetings and movement of the minority Hindus while continuing to lick the boots of the illegitimate power that be in the Goddam country.
