A right-wing body—Hindu Jagaran Mancha today staged a road blockade posing questions on the police’s inaction against the perpetrators of “Love Jihad”. By the term “Love Jihad”, the protestors explained that youth belonging to a particular community (Muslims) luring Hindu girls into marriage hiding their religious identity. The activists also staged a protest outside the Udaipur Women Police Station highlighting a specific cases reported recently.

The accused, identified as Aftab Hossain from Sonamura, allegedly introduced himself as a Hindu to woo a woman from Rajnagar, eventually eloping with her. The Hindu Jagaran Manch Udaipur coordinator Pratim Datta issued a 24-hour ultimatum for the police to arrest the accused person. He warned of road blockades across Udaipur if the demand remained unmet.

“Day by day, non-Hindu men are targeting Hindu women under false pretenses. This is a larger conspiracy,” said Datta, calling on the Hindu community to unite against such threats. Other members of the organization echoed similar sentiments, vowing to protect their faith and stand against “malicious forces.”

The protest highlights growing tensions around interfaith relationships in the region, with demands for immediate action by law enforcement. Authorities are yet to comment on the matter, but the situation remains volatile.
