Illicit affair: Woman’s multiple suicide attempts foiled

Blinded in love of her paramour, a woman attempted to kill herself multiple times. The latest of her attempts shook the GB Pant hospital on Thursday. The woman identified as Shankari Majumder is the wife of police officer Subrata Majumder.

She fell in love with the tutor of her son but the extra marital affair soon came to fore leading to domestic dispute. Her illicit lover, reportedly, ditched her prompting her to take a drastic step. She poisoned herself four days ago. According to her husband Subrata Majumder, she was rushed to GB Pant hospital, Agartala for treatment. Today, she jumped off from the second floor of the GB Pant hospital to kill herself. “She is mentally depressed after the incident. The doctors have been trying their best to treat her,” her husband added.

An on-duty doctor at the GB Pant hospital said, “The woman was receiving treatment for poison intake. Today, she jumped from the second floor of the female medicine ward. Her condition is stable now.”
