Thirty students between class six and eight of a school in Dhalai district could not appear in school examinations as they don’t have required percentage of attendance. On Wednesday when they came to the school to appear in the examination the school authorities refused to admit their entry.
Sarbani Bhattacharjee, Principal of Maiganga Sukanta Class XII School told the reporters that the school has recently been upgraded as a Vidyajyoti School and came under CBSE program. According to CBSE program no student is allowed to appear in examination if they don’t have 75 percent attendance.
Principal said some of the students even don’t have 50 percent attendance. She said the school authority repeatedly tries to apprise the students about the rules but they did not listen.
