Tripurainfo Mega Quiz-2024: tremendous response among students

The All Tripura Mega Quiz-2024, annually organized by state's highest- accessed news portal Tripurainfo.com, is scheduled to come off on November 10 in Agartala Rabindra Bhavan, Hall No-1. The organizers hope that at least two thousand boys and girls from all over the state will participate in the daylong event of the competition this year. The registration for participation in the Mega Quiz has already commenced online and offline and this will continue till November 9th evening. For the main contest a written screening test will be conducted at 11-00 AM and registered teams comprising two members each only will be allowed to take part in the screening test. In the wake of declaration of results the first sixteen teams will be authorized to participate in the main Quiz Contest.

Those who will miss out selection for the main contest can participate in audience rounds for which more than two hundred attractive prizes will be given. Besides, there will be more than one special round for students of various classes and ages. The maximum winners of audience prizes will be given a special award of Rs 5 thousand in cash and, in addition, students of any school who will win maximum prizes will also be given a special award of Rs 5 thousand in cash.

The winning team in the main contest will be given a prize of Rs 50 thousand in cash, the first runner-up team will be given Rs 30 thousand in cash while the second runner up or third team will be given Rs 20 thousand in cash. All thirty two members of the 16 teams that will qualify for the main contest by clearing the screening test will all be given special prizes. It is notable that Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has kindly consented to formally inaugurate the All Tripura Mega Quiz programme on November 10 at 2 pm. Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Pal, Shri Dipak Majumder, Mayor, AMC, Shri Subhasis Talapatra, Former Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Hon’ble Judge Mr S C Das (Retd.), Dr. B. K. Kilikdar, Retired Judge and Presently Lokayukta, Tripura, Shri Krishna Kumar, Executive Director (Asset Manager) along with many other dignitaries have agreed to attend the function.

Notably, All Tripura Mega Quiz, organized by Tripurainfo and several government and non-government organizations of Tripura, entered its 19th year this year. Soft spoken gentleman, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, popularly known as ‘Abhijit Sir’ to most, with a will forged in steel was the sole quizmaster of the first Tripurainfo mega quiz organized way back in the year 2006 and he will be seen this year too with other quizmasters. This year’s another quiz master like previous years of tripurainfo mega quiz will be Nandu Kumar Panicker , who is an accomplished singer and also an avid cricket fan and a competent Officer of State Planning Department . Though he works for the government of Tripura in the Planning Department, he is a keen quiz lover and has been associated as a quizmaster of Tripurainfo mega quiz since 2010. A little Quiz Master Madhuja Debnath (Mahi) of only 12 years of age, who is class Seven student of Auxilium Girls School of Agartala will be one of the three quiz masters of the 19th Open Mega Quiz programme of Tripurainfo.com as last year. A proud member of tripurainfo mega quiz team, Madhuja, popularly known as ‘Mahi’ has been a part of Tripurainfo mega quiz team, for the past 4 years.

The special attractions of this year's mega quiz and the main host of the quiz program will be state’s renowned TV compere and renowned Literary personalities like Subhrajit Bhattacharya, Engineer Subasish Kar and part-time different programme presenter of Agartala Doordarshan, Saswati Bhattacharya.

Talking about the objective of Tripurainfo Mega Quiz, Sekhar Dutta, Chief Editor of tripurainfo.com, said that the objective of the tripurainfo mega quiz event is to provide a platform to the people including youths and students for knowledge gathering and information sharing for intellectual stimulation as also for constructive entertainment through daylong quiz. According to Jayanta Debnath (Editor and MD), Tripurainfo.com is a news based web portal which has so far played a vital role in news service to promote the state to outside world. The website started its journey in the year 2001 and today it has progressed into its 24th successful year. The website has so far succeeded in reporting stories of Tripura and the entire North-eastern region of the country for the people.

Mr. Debnath said that until yesterday more than one hundred and fifty teams have registered their names. Registration can be done online and offline both till the evening of November 9.
