Tripura Sundari Temple: Preparations underway for Deepavali

Massive preparations are underway for the Deepavali festival and fair at Tripura Sundari temple that attracts lakhs of devotees on the day of festival. People from all over India and abroad, regardless of caste, creed, or religion, come together to participate in this grand festivities.The festival takes place on the occasion of Amavasya. It is said that since the establishment of the temple during the royal era, an annual fair and special puja have been organised here.This year, the festival of light will be held for three days, from October 30 to November 02. The Gomati District Administration has already held multiple meetings and discussions to ensure the smooth conduct of the fair.

The state government, under the Chief Minister’s supervision, has also completed administrative preparations for the event.Special trains will be arranged to accommodate the large number of pilgrims travelling from distant places to attend the fair.The Chief Minister will officially inaugurate the fair and festival on the evening of October 30. A special Kalyan Aarti at Kalyan Sagar is also being planned as a part of the festivities.

The entire Matarbari area is being decorated for the grand event. Large number of police and TSR (Tripura State Rifles) personnel will be deployed in and around the temple to ensure the festival remains peaceful and free of any untoward incidents.Gomati District Magistrate, Tarit Kanti Chakma, has been holding several rounds of discussions with officials from various departments. Additionally, CCTV cameras will be installed throughout the areas to enhance surveillance.A delegation comprising Gomati Zilla Parishad President Debal Deb Roy and Matarbari MLA Abhishek Deb Roy visited the Matarbari area to inspect the preparations of the fair on Thursday.
