GRP recovers 32 missing mobile phones

The Government Railway Police, Tripura has recovered 32 missing mobile phones from different corners of the state and the country and handed them over to the real owners on Tuesday.
Speaking on the issue, Deputy Superintendent of GRP unit Soumen Sarkar said, “We keep receiving complaints of missing mobile phones quite often. The GRP unit with the help of cyber cell has recovered 32 mobile phones from different parts of the country recently and as per the rules these phones are now being returned to the complainants. The estimated market value of the recovered mobile phones stand at Rs 4,70,400.”
On being asked from where the phones have been recovered, he said, “The phones had been recovered from different parts of Tripura as well as states like Bihar, Jharkhand and Chennai.” He also clarified that no one had been arrested as all these complaints were missing entries. “Since there is no specific allegation of theft so the question of arrest doesn’t arise,” he added. According to Sarkar, in March six such mobile phones had been traced and in June nine phones were recovered.
