Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind calls press conference on October 9 on Kadamtala issue, Mufti Taibur Rahaman to address

Tripura unit of Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind has called a media conference tomorrow in their state headquarter in the famous Gedu Mia mosque complex to express their views on the recent communal clash in Kadamtala area of Dharma Nagar over the collection of subscription for ‘Durga Puja’.The media conference will be addressed by the state president of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind Mufti Taibura Rahaman.
In an official statement issued today Mufti Taibur Rahaman said that on October 6 the issue of collection of subscription for ‘Durga Puja’ and attacks on people leading to subsequent protests had gone to excesses resulting in death of one person and injury to many others as also destruction of shops and commodities worth crores of rupees. He asked how on the next day, that is on October 7 several houses belonging to the minority community people were torched and destroyed even in the presence of administrative officials.
Mufti Taibur Rahaman expressed his shock over non-granting of appointment to a delegation by the chief minister despite being approached through officials three times. “This is the reason why the Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind is keen to express its reaction and raise certain demands on behalf of the people” said Mufti Taibur Rahaman in his letter. He has also requested the media representatives to attend the interactive session with the media in the Gedu Mia mosque complex tomorrow at 1-00 PM.
