Gomati Zilla Parishad member Nikunja Barman suffered heart attack while going to Chief Minister’s meeting, died

The newly elected member of the Gomati Zilla Parishad Nikunja Barman (76) suddenly died on Wednesday. He was supposed to attend a meeting with the Chief Minister at Udaipur and was waiting Amarpur bus stand with two other party colleagues. He suddenly felt pain in his chest and walked to the Amarpur Hospital with two other part colleagues. The doctor on duty examined him and diagnosed that he is suffering from high blood pressure. The doctor was preparing to start his treatment but Nikunja Barman left for his heavenly abode giving no chance to the doctor.

Nikunja Barman is a prominent figure of anti left movement in Amarpur and served as Congress Pradhan of Mailak Village for long ten years and switched over to BJP on the eve of 2018 election. Recently he was elected as a member of the Gomati Zilla Parishad.

As the news spread MLA Ranjit Das and many other party workers rushed to the hospital.
