On Tuesday night, a college student Shubhankar Saha was killed by the miscreants of the ruling party who got off his scooter and hit him with a rod saber in Loknath Palli area of Belabar under Amtali police station area in West Tripura.

It has also been alleged that 20-year-old Shubhankar Saha had to be killed in a fight between two factions of the ruling party. A written complaint has been filed against 6 people in Amtali police station. According to the police, a person named Papon Chakraborty has been arrested based on that complaint.

According to the details of the incident, tension was going on between two groups in Belbar's Loknath Chaumuhani and Rajiv Gandhi areas since Tuesday evening. In the meantime, Shubhankar Saha was scooting through that road after receiving the invitation of Vishwakarma Puja at around 12:30 pm. He was stopped by the miscreants.

After getting down from the scooty, the miscreants started hitting with the saber indiscriminately. This student, who is studying in college, fell down at the moment. Neighbors including Shubhankar's father Badal Saha rushed to the news. He was taken to Tripura Medical College. But due to critical condition, immediately sent to GB trauma center.

He was taken for ventilation at night. He died on Wednesday afternoon after all efforts of doctors failed. Hearing the news of the tragic death, a shadow of grief has descended on the entire area. But no one can understand why he was brutally attacked and killed.

A written complaint has been filed against 6 people on behalf of Subhankar's family.

Thus, despite the occurrence of mob lynchings one after the other, due to lack of exemplary punishment, such crimes are increasing day by day. But starting from the lynching killing of a cultural worker associated with the Information and Culture Department in Sabroom a few years ago during the Corona Pandemics, now a teacher in Udaipur, a youth from Chelagang in Natun Bazar police station was beaten to death inside a police station. Not only that an auto-rickshaw driver was hacked to death in Jirania afew days ago. lynching-killings, yesterday's incidents, etc. have turned into common crime incidents like five other incidents across Tripura today!

In the same way, cases of suicide and rape of children and middle ages women are increasing by leaps and bounds. Even Rohingya intruders who have taken shelter in the hotel from outside the state are not saved from rape!

It is known that at least three hundred suicides, hundreds of murders and rapes have occurred in the small state of Tripura in the last one year. And all this is due to administrative malpractices. Complaints have been made that in most cases the police are not conducting proper investigation in these crime cases. In some cases, chargesheets are filed in court, but hardly any accused are punished due to poorly case handling by government lawyers and excessive political interference. A few months ago a PSCO victim minor girl from Seapahijala district was secretly and illegally released from a government children home in Agartala by the Chairperson of CWC, west Tripura district. However, neither the Social Welfare Department nor the High Court, nor the Chief Minister investigated why this incident took place in violations of the law. Officers of the police department have already started saying that the Chief Minister has ordered the police to work above political interference, but the police are not able to give justice to the common people due to excessive political interference in drug trade, land brokering, murder, rape. Surprisingly, a section of politically patronized miscreants are taking the laws in their own hands and one young boy was beaten to death inside the Natun Bazar police station. But there is no high-level investigation. The High Court, the Human Rights Commission occasionally take up such cases, but after a few days, everything is covered up.
