TSR jawan caught red-handed in state central jail while smuggling in ‘Bidis’ and packets of addictive materials

What was long an open secret has finally come to light officially in the state central jail or correctional home in Prabhurampur under Bishalgarh subdivision this morning. Police sources said that a TSR jawan (11th battalion) identified as Anjan Das was apparently secretly handing over 25/30 packets of ‘Bidis’ for smoking and several packets of addictive materials to prisoners and under-trials in Prabhhurampur jail this morning. But the perfidious act of TSR jawan Anjan Das was secretly videographed by unidentified persons and circulated in social media.

This triggered a furore and the SDM of Bishalgarh Rakesh Chakraborty who is also now the ex officio superintendent of Prabhurampur central jail has ordered an emergency time-bound inquiry into the fracas. This inquiry will be conducted by the deputy superintendent of jail . In the mean time the SDM has ordered closing of TSR jawan Anjan Das from jail duty and his reversion to his battalion headquarter at Pathaliaghat under Bisramganj . Sources said that there were lot of allegations against jail staff including police and TSR jawans on deputation in Prabhurampur jail but this morning TSR jawan Anjan Das has been caught red-handed.
