IPFT has come to the field again with the demand of Tipraland, August 23 protest in Delhi

BJPs one of the partners of coalition government IPFT, has once again come forward with the demand of independent Tipraland. The State Election Commission has taken the initiative to conduct ADC village committee elections in December. Ahead of the ADC's village committee vote, IPFT will hold a protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar demanding Tipraland on August 23. The protests are aimed at pressuring the Center to create a separate state for tribals by upgrading the Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council.

IPFT General Secretary Swapan Debvarma said, In 2018, the IPFT allied with the BJP over the demand for a separate Tipraland. None of the basic needs of the people in the ADC area have been met. So they will go to Delhi and stage a dharna to attract the attention of the central government, said Swapan Debvarma.
