Border trade with Bangladesh is gradually resuming

Tripura's trade relations with Bangladesh are gradually improving. On Tuesday too, over 35,000 kg of fish arrived through the Agartala check post (ICP). Srinagar border market has also opened from yesterday.
TSECL sources said Electricity supplies to Bangladesh has also been resumed. Besides, Shyamoli Bus service has also started. One passenger bus will arrive from Dhaka to Agartala with 14 passengers on Wednesday. And another passenger bus will go to Bangladesh with six passengers today. In view of the ongoing unstable situation in Bangladesh, the border trade has almost stopped for the past one month. Meanwhile, after the resignation of Sheikh Hasina on August 5 and the departure of the country to India, it can be said that the border trade was completely stopped. However, all the check posts, including the Agartala ICP, were fully operational from now. Import and export were is also almost normal since yesterday. Sabroom Srinagar-Chagalnaya border haat, which was closed last Tuesday at the request of Bangladesh, has also reopened from yesterday.
