Criminal case filed against deposed Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina , six others in Dhaka

As foreseen by many observers when she had been forced to flee the country, the deposed Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasia seems to be in for longterm trouble being created by her successors to possibly abort her return to the country in the near future. In a development fraught with far-reaching consequences a resident of Dhaka Amir Hamza Shatil today filed a criminal case against Hasina, two of her former ministerial colleagues and senior police officials on charge of murder.
According to information filtering from across the border the criminal case on charge of murder was filed this morning in the court of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate and the presiding judge Rajesh Chowdhury admitted the case and ordered police to register a FIR by following due procedure. The case was filed against deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Awami League general secretary and minister for bridges Obaidul Qader , former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamoon, former DB chief Harunor Rashid , former Dhaka police commissioner Habibur Rahaman and former joint commissioner of police Biplab Kumar Sarkar. Sources said that the registration of FIR by police will be followed by issuance of arrest warrant against all seven accused.
Amir Hamza Shatil, the man who filed the case, said that a grocery shop owner Abu Sayed had been shot dead in cold blood in Dhaka last month by police during the anti-quota agitation by students. He said that he was sympathetic to slain Abu Sayed , a resident of Panchgarh subdistrict, and filed the case as his family is too shell-shocked to file any case. More such cases are likely to be filed soon as the sports and youth affairs advisor in the interim government Asif Mahmum yesterday called upon the families of all victims of police brutality to file cases against perpetrators in respective districts and sub-districts.
