Tragic death of married tribal youth by electrocution at home, mourning all around

In a heart rending incident a married tribal youth died by electrocution at home in Pushkarbari area under Bisramganj police station of Sepahijala district yesterday, plunging his entire family and neighbours in a sea of grief and mourning. He had married only seven months ago. Giving details police sources said that Shibaprasad Debbarma (35), second son of retired school teacher Subal Debbarma (67) had tried to repair the out of order electric fan of his home around 3-00 in the afternoon but he got a huge electric shock and fell on the ground.

Unnerved by this his family members including his wife and father took him to Bisramganj primary hospital where the doctor on duty declared him ‘brought dead’. Shell-shocked and distraught by the tragic turn of events the family members took him to the GBP hospital where also the doctor on duty repeated what the Bisramganj doctor had said. The disconsolate members of the family including father Subal Debbarma and Shibaprasad’s wife Santi Lata Debbarma took his body home in a disconsolate condition for cremation after post-mortem.

Shibaprasad’s family was happy as his elder brother is a government lab technician at work in Bairagi Bazar area and the family has a huge rubber estate. Shibaprasad was in charge of looking after the rubber estate and other paddy lands. His death is a bolt from the blue for a happy family.
