Rajeev Bhattacharjee castigates opposition for vilification campaign, recalls CPI (M) attacks on BJP in the past

The BJP state president Rajeev Bhattacharjee today congratulated the people of the state and party workers and supporters for ensuring BJP victory without contest in more than 65% of the seats in the three-tier Panchayats. Speaking to media persons in the state BJP headquarter in Krishna Nagar area of Agartala Rajeev said that in the remainder of the seats in fray the BJP candidates will win handsomely. “The people and voters of the state have reposed their confidence afresh in the political and administrative works of BJP and this will be proved after the final poll outcome is announced ; this is a continuation of what happened very recently in the Loksabha elections; our candidate and former chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb had won the West Tripura Loksabha seat by securing more than 72% votes while our candidate in East Tripura Kriti Debi Singh and won by securing more than 68% votes in the polls ; now the panchayat polls also confirm the depth of our support base in the state” said Rajeev Bhattacharjee.

He said that a large number of welfare schemes announced and implemented by the Modi led central government like ‘Jan Dhan’ account ‘Yojana’, ‘Ujjawala Yojana’, free ration for eighty crores of people, Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY), ‘Mudra Yojana’, ‘Vishwakarma Yojana’, ‘Ayushman Bharat’ and a large number of other schemes have given immense benefits to people and all these will continue in future also.

He also referred to the spate of violent attacks on BJP leaders and workers during left rule, saying how late BJP state president Sudhindra Dasgupta had been attacked in Jatrapur police station area before the Loksabha elections of 2014 and how there was a reign of terror on BJP workers and supporters perpetrated by CPI (M) earlier. “Former chief minister and politburo member Manik Sarkar and incumbent CPI (M) state secretary Jiten Chowdhury should recall the past and how their party cadres and workers unleashed a reign of terror on the opposition parties and how hundreds of opposition leaders and workers including sitting MLAs had been killed before making allegations against the BJP” said Rajeev Bhattacharjee.
