Many people are getting sick after eating these mangoes imported from other states. Formalin-coated mangoes are being sold in the capital Agartala market for the past few days.

According to the complaint, these formalin-coated mangoes looked very beautiful and smelled juicy. But when the mangoes are cut, they seem to be swollen inside. The juicy part inside is a bit hard.Several mango buyers today complain that when the raw mangoes are packed at the source, a medicine like formalin may be pushed to keep the mangoes fresh for a long time. Perhaps same medicine is used which is used to preserve the dead body for a long time.

According to news sources, not only in the case of mangoes, most of the fruits imported from other states contain formalin like medicine. Many people demands for investigation, and to take strict action against the sellers of these poisonous fruits. The issue is gone viral on social media too with such formalin soaked mangoes. But there is no news of any action taken by the administrative officers of the food and consumer affairs department of the capital.
