Many CPIM candidates can't submit nomination papers for Pannyat polls, helpless Manik Dey, Narayan Kar, Naresh Jamatia & Sankar Prasad Datta meet DGP

CPI(M) state secretariat members Manik Dey, Narayan Kar, Naresh Jamatia & Ex-MP Sankar Prasad Datta today met with DGP, Tripura. The CPIM state leadership complained that except in some of the 23 blocks, party candidates could not submit their nomination papers for the Pannyayat polls. The CPIM leadership allagged that Election Commission and the police are not taking adequate security measures for filing nomination papers of opposition candidates. Even where CPIM candidates have submitted their nomination papers, BJP miscreants are going door to door threatening to withdraw their nomination papers. Even after informing the police, nothing is happening.

The CPIM state leadership alleged,when today evening they meets DGP Amitabh Ranjan, he told the CPIM state leadership that there are not enough security forces in the state. Some central forces will arrive in the next two days.The CPIM leadership alleged that the DGP could not give any promise that BJP miscreants would not attack opposition candidates while filing nomination papers. DGP has said to complain to the State Election Commission if there are such specific complaints. If the Election Commission gives a specific direction, then the police will take action. The CPIM state leadership made this complaint while talking to media representatives after speaking to DGP Amitabh Ranjan.

The CPIM leadership complained that they went to the State Election Commission for deputation last Saturday. Then the State Election Commissioner said that the responsibility of the police is to take security measures for the candidates. But DGP Amitabh Ranjan told the CPIM state leadership, who went on deputation today, that there was no information from the Election Commission that the opposition candidates could not submit their nomination papers. If such a complaint is specific, the police will definitely take action, said DGP.

Meanwhile, today, a written complaint has also been lodged with West Tripura District Magistrate. It said, CPI(M) candidates for Panchayet Samiti and Gram Panchayet are approaching towards the Block Head Quarters of various blocks of West Tripura District are being prevented in front of block office and also towards the approaching roads of blocks. The miscreants of BJP are armed with lethal weapons.

Complaints of CPIM West Tripura district leadership that' Yesterday night those miscreants threw bombs in the houses of Mr. Khokan Debnath of Durgabari bazar and Partha Das of Tufhania Lunga, Swapan Datta of Bhagalpur and in the house of Haridhan Deb of Dugangi in the Bamutia Block area under West Tripura district. Several probable candidates of CPI(M) are being threatened day and night by the BJP hoodlums.Claiming that if this situation continues, free polling will be impossible, the CPIM West Tripura district leadership has requested the district magistrate of West Tripura district Dr. Vishal Kumar to take adequate security measures to submit the nomination papers of the CPIM candidates
