1 dead, 35 hospitalized due to food poisoning in Dharmanagar after eating Prasad of Shiva Puja

In Dharmanagar 1 person died after eating Prasad of Shiva Puja and around 35 people were admitted to various hospitals and private nursing homes. This sensational incident is in Ward No. 4 of Dewanpasha Gram Panchayat of Dharmanagar subdivision of North Tripura district. It is reported that a Shiva temple inauguration ceremony was held at a house in the area on Thursday. On that occasion, the neighbors along with the household relatives ate Prasad of Shiva Puja. But two days after eating that prasad, relatives and neighbors began to suffer from stomach diseases, vomiting and various diseases. After people fell sick in the massacre, the sick first went to the nearby hospital and got admitted. Meanwhile, a person named Shalindra Debnath (59) died while undergoing treatment at a nursing home in Dharmanagar Sakaibari on Saturday night. It is reported that the house of the deceased is in Dewanpasha area. His son told media representatives that he also fell ill after consuming prasad.

After this incident came to light, Puja Acharya and Sumit Debnath, an official of Dharmanagar Food Safety Department, rushed to the house of worship in Dewanpasha on Sunday afternoon.Moreover, food safety officials visited the house of the deceased as well as the injured under treatment at the hospital. Food safety officials said initially it seems that there was some kind of poisoning in Prasad's food. Food samples are being tested. It is also known that one or two sick people rushed to Silchar Hospital for treatment in this incident. However, the owner of the house is ruling out the possibility of poisoning in the palace.
