Student of class IV commits suicide after being forcibly handed over to students hostel

Perhaps his parents and relatives never thought that such a bizarre and heart-rending incident could happen, yet in a bizarre turn of events this is exactly what happened yesterday in Jampui Jala area under Sepahijala district. John Jamatya (10), originally from Killa area under Udaipur subdivision, was a student of Class IV in the Sudhannwa Debbarma higher secondary school in Jampui Jala. John had gone home on summer vacation and was passed his days happily by playing about and consuming indigenous fruits like mangoes, jackfruits and pineapples. Even though the vacation had ended John was reluctant to return to the students hostel near the school.

Yesterday his parents and relatives practically forced John to return to the school hostel and dropped him there. But as destiny would have it, shortly after checking into the hostel a depressed John hanged himself to death with a rope tied to the ceiling of his room. While returning home John’s parents and relatives received a call on mobile conveying to them the heart-rending information. The returned to John’s hostel and found John hanging dead. As they sat shell-shocked police from Takarjala police station came and pulled down John’s hanging dead body which was handed over to his parents and family members after post-mortem. The death of little John has cast a shadow of deep grief and mourning in Killa area.
