Retrenched 10,323 teacher dies in accident, another serious in GBP hospital, appeal for help

In an apparently unfortunate accident a retrenched teacher belonging to the 10,323 group died on the spot in Jubatara area on the Agartala-Mohanpur road last night. The slain teacher Anup Kumar Paul had been earning his livelihood by working as an employee in a shop and yesterday he was on his way back home on foot. Just as he was trying to cross over to the other side of the empty road, Anup Kumar Paul was hit hard by a speeding motor bike carrying three persons. The local people caught the three bike riders identified as Srikanta Sarkar, Asit Sarkar and Debasish Sarkar and gave them a sound thrashing before sending critically injured retrenched teacher Anup Kumar Paul and the three bike riders to GBP hospital . In the hospital retrenched teacher Anup Kumar Paul was declared ‘brought dead’ while the three bike riders were admitted with serious injuring from mass beating . The injured bike rider Srikanta Sarkar confessed that he and his two companions had consumed liquor heavily and had lost the balance while riding the motor bike. The police personnel of Lefunga station registered a case and started inquiry.
In yet another incident Madhav Debnath, another retrenched teacher belonging to Keprampara under Khayerpur assembly constituency has been suffering from cirrhosis of the liver for a long time and is undergoing treatment in GBP hospital’s medicine ward. His treatment is faltering because of lack of money and his hapless wife has appealed to the chief minister Dr Manik Saha for financial help for treatment of her critically ailing husband.
