The Special Task Force of the Food and Civil Supplies Department is continuing their raids against illegal hoarding given the unusual rising trend in the prices of essential commodities. After Agartala, the officials raided the markets on the city's outskirts including Bishalghar, Amtali, and Boxnagar. The Task Force headed by Deputy Director Swapan Debbarma verified the stock position of the traders.
The team found that a shop in Boxnagar Market had a stock of 612 sacks of sugar. Officials said they will notify the trader to explain why such a large quantity of sugar has been stocked. Show Cause notice was also served to two other businessmen due to irregular stock position.
