After a fairly long wait the traditional searing heat wave has finally struck Tripura with the day’s highest temperature reaching 38 degree Celsius today in the early afternoon. The lowest recorded temperature of the day was 28 degree Celsius amidst indications as the summer deepens in the coming months of May-June the temperature will rise further . What worsens the situation is the high degree of humidity recorded beyond ninety degree and lack of rain. Sources in the weather office said that there is no possibility of rain in the next few days even though gusty wind may lessen the torturous temperature level . Yesterday’s highest and lowest temperature level recorded were 36 degree and 28 degree Celsius but in the coming days the barometre will rise steeply to the distress of people. The hide and seek game played by the power department and their connectivity may also create pressing problems for the people in the torrid summer heat.
