A man impersonating a government employee and wanted to be bailer of a drug smuggler arrested

One Sajal Das impersonating a government employee was arrested by police in Khowai when he was trying to be the bailer of an alleged drug smuggler Binod Shah of Behar arrested under NDPS Act.

Binod Shah was in police and jail custody for quite some time and recently the Additional District and Session judge sanctioned bail to him. The court imposed a condition that the bailer must be a government employee where the real drama started.

Sajal Das, a resident of Khejur Bagan area in Agartala appeared before the court on Friday and submitted a petition to be the bailer of Binod Shah. He also submitted a certificate from the DDO of Teliamura Hospital that he is an employee of the hospital.

When the court staff were recording details of him, Sajal said he was an employee of Ayurvedic Hospital, Agartala. The court staff got suspicious and enquired with Telieamura and the Ayurvedic Hospital both of whom said there was an employee in such a name. The DDO, Teliamura Hospital also said he has not any certificate to anyone. After being confirmed about his fraudulent act, police arrested him.
