Election Commission : polling percentage of West Tripura 79.7% , Ram Nagar by-poll 67.81% till 5-00 PM

Amidst indications of polling percentage today going still higher, the information uploaded on the official web portal of central election commission said that till 5-00 PM the overall polling percentage in the West Tripura Loksabha seat today was 76.10% . However, the election department in the state or the chief electoral officer’s office has given a higher percentage on the basis of feedback from ground level all over the constituency.

According to data given by the chief electoral officer’s office the average polling percentage in West Tripura Loksabha seat was 79.7% till 5-00 PM while the average polling percentage in the Ram Nagar assembly by-election was 67.81% till the same time. Sources in the CEO office however said that the overall percentage in West Tripura as well as in the Ram Nagar by-poll may go still higher after final computation of percentages based on feedback sent from all 793 polling stations in the state.

No political party contesting the polls has as yet given any reaction to the polling percentages or the nature of voting and incidents related to them in the parliamentary election in West Tripura or the by-election to Ram Nagar by-election. Sources in various parties said that they will soon give their formal reaction to the election held today .
