Villagers of Nurpur in Kailasahar detected a fake subscription collection racket, detained four, and later released

Local People of Kanakpur village under Nurpur Gao-Panchayat in Kailasahar detected a fake subscription collection racket. However, they did not hand them over to the police as they admitted their crime, begged an apology, and committed that they wouldn’t resort to such activities.

Five youths entered the village, visiting door-to-door and collecting subscriptions for an Old Age Home Amlan Jyoti at Gokul Nagar in Bishalghar in West Tripura district. They also issued nicely printed receipts containing the registration number of the Old Age Home and all other necessary information.

Villagers got suspicious observing their movements and started questioning them. Meanwhile, one of the youths fled away from the spot which made people more suspicious. The youths broke down when people started interrogating them and admitted their crimes.
