To avoid the ST certificate controversy, BJP candidate for East Tripura Lok Sabha constituency Kriti Singh will submit her nomination papers today at the Ambasha DM office as a candidate in the name of her father's tittle 'Debbarman' and not in the name of her husband's title 'Singh'.

A party source said Kriti Singh has ST certificate at her father's home address in Tripura. After moving to Chhatrisgarh after marriage, her Andhar card and voter card were produced in the name of her husband titled as 'Singh'. But there is no ST certificate in Singh's tittle and name. Therefore, many in the opposition alliance complained that Kriti Singh is no longer a member of the ST community. Debate has been going on since the election was announced. Last night it was reported that Kriti Singh will submit her nomination papers for East Tripura Lok Sabha polls in Agartala Rajbari address of Tripura under the title of 'Debbarman' to avoid her ST certificate controversy. An affidavit in this regard will also be submitted to the Election Commission, said a party source. So she also removed all her personal information from her Facebook profile to avoid the ST certificate controversy.

It is known that the BJP candidate for the East Constituency, Kriti Singh Debbarman, will submit her nomination papers this afternoon. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and BJP state president Rajeev Bhattacharya will also go to Ambasa today to join the procession for submission of nomination papers.

Tripura West Lok Sabha constituency BJP nominated candidate Biplab Kumar Deb. Yesterday he filled the nomination paper to the returning officer Dr Vishal Kumar. Senior BJP leader Professor Dr. Manik Saha, state party chief Rajeev Bhattacharya, former Tipra Matha chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, Haryana Chief Minister Shri Sani, former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and others were present.

Ashish Kumar Saha, the Congress and Left alliance's West Tripura Lok Sabha candidate, also submitted their nomination papers yesterday. CPM State Secretary Jiten Chowdhury, AICC Spokesperson Supriya Srinath, Sudip Roy Barman, Gopal Roy, Birjit Sinha, Pijush Biswas and other top leaders of the two parties were present during the rally of nomination filling.
