Five Bangladeshi nationals en route to Maharashtra for job arrested in Tripura

A total of five Bangladeshi Nationals en route to Maharashtra were arrested in Agartala railway station, said police. They were also produced before the court.

Speaking on the issue Officer in-charge Government Railway Police Sanjit Sen said, “GRP and RPF conduct regular search operations in the long route trains from Agartala railway station. Similarly, a search was conducted on Kanchanjungha Express before it departed for West Bengal. During the search operations, six individuals were spotted for their suspicious movement. Accordingly they were detained and it was found that five of them were Bangladeshi citizens. We have recovered documents from their possession”.

According to Police, the Indian Tout from Maharashtra was the sixth accused arrested with them.

The arrested Bangladeshi citizens are identified as Bellal Hossain, Sohail Miah, Ajijul Hakim, Shami and Hafijul Islam. The person who had been facilitating their journey is named as Ronny Maksud Khan.

“In the initial interrogation, Ronny Maksud Khan revealed that he works at the garment factory in Maharashtra and all the Bangladeshi citizens were being taken to that place for work purposes. We have forwarded them to the Court seeking police remand”, said Sen.
