CM attends plethora of functions on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, urges youths to follow ideals of Swamiji

The chief minister Dr Manik Saha today attended a number of programmes in different parts of Agartala on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and urged youths to follow in their lives the ideals of Swamiji. Early in the morning the chief minister garlanded the statue of Swami Vivekananda in the enclosure dedicated to Swamiji and paid his tributes to him. He briefly addressed the small gathering and urged youths to follow the ideals of Swamiji in their lives.

In the next programme he attended the birth anniversary function of Swamiji in the Swami Vivekananda club in Bhattapukur area under his constituency. Speaking on contribution of Swamiji the chief minister said that Swami Vivekananda was a true nationalist dedicated to revival of India’s former glory. “His teaching are a guiding light to the country’s youths; he asked the youths to build up strong bodies without which spiritual pursuit is not possible; you should also become dedicated nationalists and patriotic and try to revive the great ancient glory of our country which was there in the past” said Dr Saha. He also laid stress on social service as a means of keeping in close touch with the people .

All the functions attended by the chief minister on the occasion of Swami Vibekananda’s birth anniversary were well attended. The people spontaneously thronged the functions and appreciated the chief minister’s inspiring speeches.
