Rahul and Priyanka to visit Tripura in December to boost up the party organization

The Congress stalwarts Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi will separately visit Tripura in December to boost up the party organization in the run-up to the Loksabha polls . This was announced yesterday in an interaction with media by the AICC observer for Tripura Tzaritha Laiphlang . She said that Rahulji will first come to Tripura and hold a meeting and a road-show to strengthen the party organization as well as to expose the failure of the BJP government in Tripura to provide good governance. Rahul Gandhi’s visit will be followed by the tour of Priyanka Gandhi who will also hold a road-show to sprinkle her charm as part of boosting the organization . The matter was discussed in a high-level meeting of the Pradesh Congress attended by TPCC president Asish Kumar Saha, observer Tzaritha Laiphlang and womens wing president Sarbani Ghosh Chakraborty. They decided to immediately launch preparation for the twin visits of the brother and sister.

However, sources close to the party said that having indulged in a lot of faux pas Rahul Gandhi is currently in the process of rebuilding his image. After the last Sunday’s world cup cricket final in Ahmedabad Rahul characteristically attributed India’s loss to Australia to presence of prime minister Narendra Modi in the Indian dressing room, calling him ‘Panauti’ (evil omen). This did not go down well with the general public who still remember French president Emmanuel Macron consoling the players of national football team including the star footballer Killian Embape after they had lost the final to Argentina in a penalty shootout. Rahul’s poisoned bile had found expression earlier also on umpteen number of occasions including the infamous ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ before the 2019 Loksabha polls . He, of course, had to tender an unqualified apology to the supreme court for an indiscreet comment. Rahul’s erudition (!) came to the fore last year in an interaction with the media last year at Kurukshetra in the course of his ‘Bharat Jodo’ (Todo?) yatra’ . His innocent and uninformed reference to ‘Mahabharata’, describing Pandavas as ‘sages’ and how they did not oppress people by going for demonetization and GST was hilarious for many. There are instances galore of Rahul’s words of wisdom and erudition and the people of Tripura may be blessed by his sage counsel and erudite outpourings directed against Modi.

Similarly , Priyanka is innocent of major political utterances except occasional diatribe against Modi and BJP. Interestingly, she has effected a hair-cut to project herself as an incarnation of her granny Indira Gandhi. A short ten-minute speaker on the dais, she had once tried to silence dissident voices in a working committee meeting with the assertion that she is the grand-daughter of Indira Gandhi to the astonishment of the much older and wiser members of the working committee. She may be coming to Tripura to spread her charm among the people that may prove elusive. The hyper-active moves of the brother-sister duo may now be reasonably ascribed to the attachment of the illegal appropriation of the National Herald property in multiple cities by the ED and the desperation is loud and clear.
