Blood donation creates a spiritual bond and intimate relationship in society, Manik Saha

Voluntary blood donation for others is the greatest gift to humanity and blood creates and strengthens human bond for the benefit of society and for this every one should come forward to donate blood. Making this assertion in a mega blood donation camp in the Arabinda Sangha club near AD Nagar HS school on the 77th day independence day celebration , the chief minister Dr Manik Saha said that human blood has four ingredients and , as a result, blood donated by one person can save lives of four persons.

He said that at present there are fourteen blood banks in the state out of which twelve are run by the government while two are run by private parties. “We also have the mechanism to divide the blood components ; its good that now many clubs engaged in social service along with sports and cultural activities ; besides clubs also play a role in resolving small problems in areas of their operation” said Dr Saha. He asserted that the state government has been trying to improve the speciality and super-speciality hospitals in the state and provide the best possible health care to people. “We have already launched trauma centres in Gomati, south Tripura and Dhalai district hospitals; in order to strengthen the health infrastructure in the state 100 more primary health centres will be set up and to achieve this Rs 30 cores have been allocated in the current financial year’s budget ; besides we have decided to set up fifty de-addiction centres in fifty places in the state covering all the districts” said the chief minister.

The chief minister said that 13 lakhs of people in the state have been given ‘Ayushman’ cards while the state government has declared a special scheme whereby the remaining people of the state will also be brought under the special subsidized health protection scheme. An amount of Rs 59 crores have been allocated for this in the current year’s budget. The chief minister expressed the hope that by the end of the current term of the government health and educational infrastructure in the state will be fully built.
