On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Rainmatter Foundation, in collaboration with Early Bird, successfully conducted bird walk in five cities across India. The program is aimed to engage children between the ages of 9 and 13 in a nature walk, fostering their understanding and appreciation of birds and their habitats. The partner organization for the event at Agartala was the Wild Tripura Foundation.

The bird walk took place at the scenic MBB University Campus. The program attracted a total of 22 enthusiastic participants. The Bird Walk for Children program featured a carefully designed session flow that ensured an immersive and educational experience for all attendees.

The event commenced with an introduction where participants got to know one another. They were then briefed about the bird habitat and the invaluable knowledge they would gain during the walk. Given that most participants were embarking on their first-ever bird walk, the focus was primarily on observing bird behavior and learning about their natural habitats to kindle their interest in the subject.

Led by experienced guides, the participants embarked on an hour-long bird walk, exploring various habitats within the venue. The walk proved to be an exciting and eye-opening experience, as participants had the opportunity to observe a diverse array of bird species in their natural environment.

Upon completion of the walk, the program concluded with a series of interactive activities and fun bird games. These engaging exercises were specifically designed to ensure the children had an enjoyable time while simultaneously reinforcing the knowledge they had acquired during the walk.

Dr. Dipak Sinha, Assistant Professor at College of Agriculture, Tripura and Executive Member of the Wild Tripura Foundation and also the City Coordinator for the event, expressed his delight at the overwhelming success of the program. He emphasized the importance of connecting children with nature and wildlife, highlighting the need to organize similar events frequently to foster awareness and appreciation among the younger generation.

Such program stands as a testament to the Rainmatter Foundation's commitment to environmental education and the Early Bird’s goal of instilling a sense of wonder and curiosity about the natural world in children. By providing such unique opportunities, both organizations aim to nurture a future generation that is conscious of the significance of preserving our planet's rich biodiversity.
