The leader of the opposition in assembly and senior ‘Tipra Motha’ leader Animesh Debbarma has taken strong exception to comments made in a section of media as well as in social media , attributed to CPI (M) leaders, regarding his home in Nandan Nagar area. A meritorious man who had acquired computer engineering degree from NERIST and had resigned the lucrative job of a high executive in the Indian Oil, Animesh is always known for his fluent articulation on all issues. In a chat with the media he said yesterday that he had purchased the house in Nandan Nagar area way back in 2006 when he was an MLA with a loan which he is still repaying. “Without knowing anything and verifying facts all wild allegations are being made against me ; this must stop ,this campaign of calumny” said Animesh.

He lashed out at the left parties saying that what they are doing is tantamount to weakening the opposition , giving a free space to BJP. “Manik Sarkar himself is living in a high category government quarter which is not his due because he is no longer the leader of the opposition in which role he miserably failed over the past five years; he wrote only two letters to the previous government during his tenure as leader of the oppotion whereas the incumbent leader of the opposition has already addressed 73 letters ; so he has no moral right to pass irrelevant and untrue comments on me” said Animesh. He also hinted that by resorting to these tricks the CPI (M) is only helping to strengthen the BJP for upcoming by-election to Dhanpur assembly constituency as well as in the election to the state’s two Loksabha seats. He described the reports and allegations on his house purchase as ‘totally false, baseless and malicious’.
