Jiten files complaint with DGP against murderous attack on a party worker , demands action against BJP culprits

The CPI (M) state secretary Jiten Chowdhury has filed a complaint with the DGP Amitava Ranjan , giving details of a murderous attack on a party worker and demanding immediate arrest of BJP miscreants responsible for the attack. In his letter of complaint Jiten said that like many other CPI (M) workers across the state Asim Saha of Jirania market had been targeted and driven away from his home on March 2, the day of counting of ballots of the assembly election. As a result Asim Saha was forced to take shelter in the residence of one of his relatives in Matabari area of Udaipur and started painting work to earn a livelihood.

Yesterday while heading for his place of work Asim Saha came across a gang of BJP miscreants of Jirania who had accompanied the minister Sushanta Chowdhury to the temple of ‘Mata Tripureshwari’ . The BJP miscreants at once got down from their vehicle and set upon Asim Saha , severely beating him and left him half dead beside the road. The minister , despite knowing what was happening , did not intervene to save the hapless CPI (M) worker who was all alone. Jiten said that local people had seen Asim Saha lying badly injured on the road and sent him to hospital from where he was referred to Agartala and he is now admitted to IGM hospital.

Demanding drastic action against the culprits involved in the attack on Asim Saha, Jiten named the four BJP miscreants, namely, Ratan Saha of Baishyapara, Jirania, Rathindra Shil of Baishyapara , Jirania, Bijan Saha of Chittaranjan Palli , Jirania, Biplab Saha of Chittaranjan Palli , Jirania and 5-6 other miscreants whom he did not name. He charged the minister Sushanta Chowdhury’s indulgence for the attack.
