There is not a single MLA whose income has not increased by an average of Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.5 crore in the last five years. How can the income increase by doing social service without doing any kind of business from the political field all year? This question naturally arises. Leaders of the opposition party have also raised questions about how BJP MLAs or ministers have become owners of so much money. Jiten Chowdhury and Birjit Sinha raised questions about this and asked the Income Tax Department to investigate.
Notably, the present cabinet of the state has 11 members. Among them, the assets of five have increased over crores of rupees in the last five years.
