It has been decided to provide free education for all girl students in degree colleges of Tripura: Chief Minister

Tripura government has decided to provide free education for all girl students in general degree colleges of the state. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while announcing several decisions taken by the state government for women while participating in a function organized on the occasion of Rakhibandhan festival celebrations at the Chief Minister's official residence on August 11. He said that the government is trying to ensure social security and safety of women. For this purpose, the state government has decided to launch 1091 security helpline number. Any woman can complain about their safety and security on this number. Apart from this, initiatives will also be taken to solve the complaints, he said.

The chief minister said on the occasion that the state government has decided to install about 400 more CCTV cameras and 12 automatic vehicles number plate identification cameras in different parts of the state. He said that these CCTV cameras will be installed in all the places where there is lack of surveillance. 150 CCTV cameras will be installed in the first phase. 7 crore 61 lakh rupees will be spent for this. The Chief Minister also said that police helpline desks are manned by women police officers, constables in all police stations of the state. Where necessary, women can report their complaints.
