One more journalist attacked and left bleeding by BJP miscreants in Gandacherra, no police action

One more journalist was physically assaulted and left bleeding by miscreants affiliated with the BJP in Gandacherra yesterday. The attack came within twenty four hours of the assault on photo-journalist Bikash Bhattacharjee in Dharma Nagar railway station . Sources from Gandacherra said that Subrata Das , a journalist and resident of Narayanpur Chaumuhuni area near Gandacherra town, had gone to Hospital Chaumuhuni area yesterday in the morning and was physically assaulted by three BJP miscreants identified as Ratan Das, Swapan Das and Sujit Deb without any provocation. Subrata who had sustained serious injuries was taken to nearby Gandacherra hospital but the doctors referred him to better-equipped hospital . Subrata was then taken to Gomati district hospital in Udaipur and then he was referred to GBP hospital, Agartala. He is stated to be in a critical condition.

Sources from Gandacherra said that Subrata Das had been performing his duties as a journalist in a constructive manner , exposing corruption and malfunctioning of the administration . This was the reason for unprovoked attack on him in an unprovoked manner.
