5 killed in explosion at illegal firecracker unit in Bihar

New Delhi, Oct 24, 2026 : In Bihar, five people were killed in an explosion during the illegal manufacturing of firecrackers inside a house in Alampur village in Siwan district last evening. The incident occurred under the Jamo police station area, causing a two-storey building to collapse. The deceased include a firecracker trader, his family members and two workers.

Siwan Superintendent of Police Bharat Soni said a special team has been constituted under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Maharajganj to investigate the incident.

Meanwhile, Jamo police station in-charge Dhiraj Kumar has been suspended with immediate effect for alleged negligence. A police chowkidar has also been suspended in connection with the matter.
