President, Vice President and PM condole veteran actor Nana Patekar’s demise

New Delhi, Oct 08, 2026 : President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the demise of veteran Hindi and Marathi film actor Nana Patekar, who passed away at the age of 75 after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa this morning.

President Murmu praised Mr Patekar’s powerful and evocative performances, saying he brought a wide range of human experiences to life and left a lasting impression on audiences. She also appreciated his commitment to social service and said his passing is a great loss to Indian cinema.

Vice President Radhakrishnan described Mr Patekar as a versatile and immensely talented artist whose depth, sensitivity and authenticity enriched Indian cinema. He said the actor’s contribution will be remembered by generations of cinema lovers.

Prime Minister Modi said Mr Patekar brought remarkable versatility and creativity to every role and left an immense contribution to Hindi and Marathi cinema. He said the actor’s passing has left a deep void and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family, friends and admirers.
