Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb delivers at 81st session of UN General Assembly’s sixth committee

New Delhi, Oct 07, 2026 : India has rejected the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) remarks on Jammu and Kashmir and India’s actions against terror infrastructure in Pakistan. Speaking at the UN General Assembly Sixth Committee, Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb said those making the remarks were unable to distinguish between the victim and the perpetrator. He asserted that India has the right to defend its people against cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan.

Mr Deb also rejected the OIC’s reference to Jammu and Kashmir. He said India’s experience shows that terrorism is a persistent threat and referred to the Pahalgam terror attack of April last year, in which 26 civilians were killed. He said terrorist groups continue to exploit emerging technologies for recruitment, radicalisation, propaganda, operational planning and terrorist financing. India also called for an early conclusion of the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism.
