Amit Shah calls for cooperative sector to tap Kerala’s blue economy potential

New Delhi, Sep 26, 2026 : Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah today said that the blue economy holds immense potential for Kerala’s future, and the cooperative sector must be able to tap into it. He was speaking while inaugurating various development initiatives under the aegis of the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India, NCCF at Kundara in Keralam.

He pointed out that ever since independence, people had always demanded a separate Ministry of Cooperation at the Centre. After the Narendra Modi government came to power, steps were taken in this regard, which proved highly beneficial to farmers.

The ‘She Mart’ concept will provide an excellent platform for women entrepreneurs to connect with the market. NCCF will open more than 25,000 retail outlets. He added that the Government of India is pleased to initiate all its schemes and initiatives in Kerala.

Sri Shah also visited the stall featuring cooperative sector products. Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi, State Ministers M. Liju, P. C. Vishnunadh, N. K. Premachandran MP, BJP State President Rajiv Chandrasekhar MLA and others attended the event.
