Teachers empower the future of students with knowledge, skills & confidence: Union Minister

New Delhi, Sep 05, 2026 : Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi today said that teachers empower the future of students with knowledge, skills, and confidence. Sharing a video message in a social media post, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Mr Joshi paid homage to the great scholar, philosopher and teacher Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

The Minister said that Mr Radhakrishnan was a visionary teacher whose dedication and contribution towards teaching even today remain an inspiration for all the people. Mr Joshi said that the occasion of Teachers’ Day offers an opportunity to honor those teachers who are working every day to instil focus, skills and self-confidence in the students.

He added that this year, 82 outstanding teachers from the fields of school education, higher education, and skill development are being honored with the National Teachers’ Award 2026, who have made significant contributions to providing better opportunities to students through innovation, technology, inclusive education, sports, arts, and skills.

Mr Joshi noted that the foundation of the country’s brighter future is built upon good higher education and dedicated teachers. He expressed his gratitude to all teachers who go beyond imparting knowledge to empower the next generation and strengthen the foundation of a Viksit Bharat.
