PM RELEASES RAM NATH KOVIND’S AUTOBIOGRAPHY

New Delhi, Aug 12, 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday released former President Ram Nath Kovind’s autobiography, Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles, and recalled his long association with the former President, praising his guidance and warmth during his tenure in office.

PM Modi said Kovind’s autobiography would become a “cherished legacy” for Indian democracy and society, and urged people, particularly the younger generation, to read the book to understand his life journey, struggles and contributions to the nation.

“Today, we have the opportunity to witness the launch of Ramnath Kovind ji’s autobiography. I have known Kovind ji for a very long time and have had the opportunity to know him closely. His guidance during his tenure as President, along with his special affection and warmth towards me, has been a truly valuable asset for me,” PM Modi said at the launch event.

The Prime Minister said that based on his understanding of Kovind’s life and capabilities, he was confident that the autobiography would leave a lasting legacy.

“I can say with full confidence that Ramnath Kovind ji’s autobiography will become a cherished legacy for Indian democracy and society,” he said.

PM Modi said the launch event should serve only as a “curtain-raiser” and encouraged people to read the book to gain a deeper understanding of Kovind’s journey and contribution to public life.

Urging the younger generation to read the autobiography, Modi said Kovind’s experiences and struggles offered valuable lessons and reflected the triumph of India’s democratic system.

“Learn about Kovind ji’s life journey in his own words. Let the new generation of the country read his writings and his experiences; everyone stands to learn a great deal from them,” he said.

Referring to the title of the book, PM Modi said the struggles described in it may have been personal to Kovind, but the achievement that followed belonged to the Indian Republic and its democracy.

Former President Kovind, meanwhile, described the occasion as an emotional moment and said he had already shared his experiences and journey in the autobiography.

“It is an emotional moment for me to address you all from this platform today. I have addressed you on several occasions, but today’s occasion is different. I am grateful to all of you for joining this programme to mark the launch of my autobiography,” Kovind said.

“I was wondering what I should say today. I have already written everything in my autobiography, and readers will read it,” he added.
