BJP leaders welcome activist Sonam Wangchuk’s decision to end hunger strike

New Delhi, Jul 24, 2026 : BJP MP Shashank Mani has welcomed activist Sonam Wangchuk’s decision to end his hunger strike. Speaking exclusively to Akashvani News, Mr Mani said the government treats paper leak incidents, including the NEET-UG examination row, with the utmost seriousness and considers them organised crimes. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video message, he said the Prime Minister has assured the nation of stringent measures against paper leaks, including bringing a comprehensive Bill on the issue.

BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rahul Sinha said the Prime Minister will fulfil his assurance of taking action in the NEET paper leak case under all circumstances. Speaking to Akashvani News on the Parliament premises, Mr Sinha said no one involved in the matter will be spared. He also criticised the Opposition, including the Congress, for disrupting Parliament proceedings and said the government is ready to hold a discussion on the issue.
