Govt ready for discussion on NEET paper leak: Union Minister

New Delhi, Jul 22, 2026 : Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju today said that the Government has been ready for the discussion on the NEET examination paper leak from day one of the Monsoon session. Speaking to the reporters at Parliament premises, he said that the rules under which this discussion will take place must be determined.

Mr Rijiju said that the government wants a thorough discussion on the NEET exam paper. The minister emphasised that the debate should be as long as it takes and it should begin as soon as possible. He said that the government has invited opposition parties for open discussion on the issue, but they brought such obstructions that it appears that they do not want to engage in dialogue.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that holding a protest near the Prime Minister’s residence reflected the irresponsible behaviour of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party. Talking to reporters at Parliament premises, Mr Singh said that despite holding a constitutional post, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has maligned the image of the country’s democracy.

BJP MP Dr Satish Poonia accused the Congress party of spreading anarchy by protesting outside the Prime Minister’s residence. He said that the Constitution guarantees freedom of expression, national security comes first.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that Students have a genuine struggle and are asking for change. Talking to reporters at Parliament premises, she alleged that Paper leaks are happening repeatedly. Mrs Vadra said that there is nothing undemocratic with peaceful protest.
