IMD issues orange alert for heavy rain in parts of Tripura

New Delhi, Jul 08, 2026 : In Tripura, the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Agartala, has issued an orange alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall for West, Khowai, Dhalai and Gomati districts for today. A Yellow Warning has also been issued for the remaining districts of the State, indicating the possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated places. According to the forecast, a Yellow Warning will remain in force across all districts of the state tomorrow. Additionally, on Friday, West, Khowai, Sepahijala, Gomati and South districts are expected to experience heavy rainfall at isolated locations.

The IMD has advised residents, local authorities and disaster management agencies to remain alert and take necessary precautions. People have been urged to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and warnings through the official website and social media platforms of IMD Agartala.
