Assistance of Rs 25,000 crore to states sanctioned and released under VB-G RAM G

New Delhi, Jul 05, 2026 : Union Minister of Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed happiness that Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 has successfully come into force on the 1st July. The Minister today sanctioned and released assistance of 25,000 crore rupees to the states under the Mission through video conferencing.

Mr Chouhan said that the VB-G RAM G Act has successfully transitioned from Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. He said that the implementation of MG NREGA took over three years, while the VB-G RAM G was implemented across the country in only in a day. Mr Chouhan said that under this Act over 7.5 lakh crore rupees will be invested in 2.86 lakh Panchayats in the next five years to accelerate the vision of Viksit Bharat.
